Elizabeth Erickson

Certified iLs Advanced Practioner

Elizabeth Erickson (Liz) graduated from Brigham Young University in 1982 with a B.S. Degree in Communicative Disorders and a Teaching Certificate for grades one through eight and taught school for two years. When she became a mother, she devoted all of her attention to her children. In 1994, she recognized that some of her children had learning disabilities, so she began home schooling her children in order to give more attention to their needs.

In 2002, Liz took two of her children to the Center for Inner Change in Denver. The Center uses auditory intervention based on the work of a French doctor named Tomatis. The results for both her children were so phenomenal, that she decided to go through the program for herself. While there, she decided to become a trained practitioner. At the end of that year she trained with Ron Minson, M.D., and in January 2003, she established Boost Listening Center, LLC.

Dr. Tomatis and Dr. Ron B. Minson

“Dr. Alfred Tomatis laid the groundwork for a new multi-disciplinary science called Audio-Psycho-Phonology (APP). It explains “why the way we listen” has a profound impact on almost all aspects of our being. In the early 1950′s Dr. Tomatis also discovered that listening problems are the root of many learning disabilities.
Dr. Tomatis not only discovered the cause of learning disabilities, but also developed a highly effective technique to remedy them. Thanks to his revolutionary discoveries, he enriched the lives of hundreds of thousands of children and adults. His body of work is known throughout Europe as the Tomatis Method.
The Dynamic Listening System is based on the teachings of Dr. Tomatis and Ron B. Minson, M.D. It uses Mozart’s music, Gregorian chants and, in some instances, the mother’s voice. These sound sources are delivered through a sophisticated sound system. This combination builds strong listening skills through auditory stimulation. It improves learning and language abilities, communication, creativity, and social behavior.”
